What is Whitsun Camp?
Whitsun Camp 2021 will be an epic, action-packed Friday night and all-day Saturday, full of legendary games and mutinous fun set deep in the forest near Waverley Abbey. We’ll be playing a frenzy of games, team activities and enjoying utter madness enjoying the vastness of the Waverley Abbey woods and its surrounding area .
What is the format?
Whitsun Camp 2021 will run as two separate days without overnight camping. The event opens on the evening of Friday 28th May: 7pm – 9.30pm, and then runs through the full day Saturday 29th May: 9.30am – 9.45pm.
Whitsun Camp is run by a team of trained leaders, and has a high leader to lad ratio creating a friendly and welcoming environment. Games and activities run through the event will be designed to encourage the atmosphere of a typical Whitsun Camp despite the necessary change in format, with careful planning to reduce covid-risk.
This year we will be providing dinner, but you will need to bring a packed lunch on the Saturday and come having had breakfast.
Who is Camp for?
If your son has been to Urban Saints, or would like to start by going on Camp, then it is for him! Although Urban Saints is a Christian organisation, Camp is a place that is welcoming to lads of all faiths or none. There are spiritual sessions on Camp aimed at exploring aspects of the Christian faith in a way that is engaging for both Christians and those who have never explored the Christian faith before.
Want to bring a friend along, who is not a regular at USG? What a good idea! Mention their name (and a contact detail) to Jagat Shrestha and he will make sure they get all the relevant mailing and information.
