On Friday 6th September, Urban Saints Guildford went to Guildford Lido for a swim….
So what happened………….
On Friday 6th September all of Urban Saints Guildford (that’s a lot of people) descended on Guildford Lido for a swim, BBQ and a show by a world class juggler. The evening was a great opportunity to meet up after the amazing summer camp we had this year and it was brilliant to meet many new lads. We had the whole Lido to ourselves and there was a lot of football, swimming and chatting going on. At one point Mike, our chairman, called to Paddy, one of the leaders, who was pushed in towel and all.
When it started to get darker we had a BBQ and sat down to listen to a talk from James, a record breaking juggler who’d just got back from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He did a talk on the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice at the SAME TIME as juggling with incredible skills. He gave a really good talk and then impressed us by juggling with incredibly sharp knives and showed us his diabolo tricks- he holds the national record for the highest throw. It was a great evening and I can’t wait for Urban Saints’ next event!
