What is Whitsun Camp?

Whitsun Camp 2018 is an epic, action-packed weekend away, full of legendary games and mutinous fun set deep in the forest near Waverley Abbey.

What will we be doing?

From Friday night to Monday afternoon, we have an action-packed weekend enjoying the vastness of the Waverley Abbey woods and its surrounding area playing a frenzy of games, team activities and enjoying utter madness.

What is the format?

Whitsun Camp is run by a team of trained leaders, and lads are divided into tent groups by age, with each tent having two or three leaders responsible for looking after the lads in their tent for the duration of Whitsun Camp. This provides a high leader to lad ratio (around 1:3), and creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. There is a strong sense of community on Camp, and Camp is a place where lads often make strong and lasting friendships with one another. This is reinforced by the lively meal times, where the food is always top class thanks to a brilliant cooking team.

Who is Camp for?

If your son has been to Urban Saints, or would like to start by going on Camp, then it is for him! Although Urban Saints is a Christian organisation, Camp is a place that is welcoming to lads of all faiths or none. There are daily slots on Camp aimed at exploring aspects of the Christian faith in a way that is engaging for both ‘churched’ Christians and those who have never explored the Christian faith before.

Want to bring a friend along, who is not a regular at USG? What a good idea! Mention their name (and a contact detail) to Jagat Shrestha (jag.shrestha@hotmail.co.uk / 07800 884933) and he will make sure they get all the relevant mailing and information.
